Stupas can also be made with the greatest of efforts, sparing no expense or detail when acquiring objects for its filling, such as cosmological representations, mandalas, relics of past Buddhas and realized beings, sacred substances from many holy sites throughout the world, rolled mantras and scriptures, blessed images, and so forth.
The Bodhivastu Phuntsok Chörten will be constructed with several material supports for the interior of the structure, such as:
- Holy relics
- Medicines, herbs and blessing substances
- Rolled mantras
- Clay Images (tsa tsas)
- Precious metals... gold, silver, copper, brass and iron (old jewelry)
- Soil, stones and water from holy places from all over the world (collected by you)
- Coins from all countries (collected by you)
- Precious and semiprecious stones and crystals, both complete in form or in fractured condition for powdering (collected by you)
- Tantric implements and representations, such as Buddha and deity statues, bells, and vajras; activity representations such as phurbas, curved knives, and implements; supports for prosperity such as vases and other precious containers, and many other objects.
In 2007 Lama Rangbar had a profound meeting in Bhutan with the direct assistant to the King of Bhutan, Dashok Karma Gelek, just before Dashok Karma passed away. It was at this meeting that Dashok offered the following prophecy:
"In the future there is a large work you will lead. For this work you will need some important provisions that I am going to bestow upon you now."At this time, Dashok Karma bestowed several relic treasure troves upon Lama Rangbar, including rare relics of Guru Padmasambhava and his twenty-five disciples, collected relic treasure troves of the several Lingpas, and precious and rare mandala drawings (too great in number to describe here).

Furthermore, a close friend of Lama Rangbar, Drukpa Pema, a direct descendant of Choje Lingpa, a great spiritual treasure revealer (tertön), spontaneously offered his complete collection of
Choje Lingpa's trove of Buddha Kashyapa's miraculously multiplying relics, pictured here.
All of these relics and mandalas will be placed in the Bodhivastu Stupa during its final consecration stages. These holy objects are to be offered for the increase of happiness and the causes of happiness, and for the decrease of suffering and the causes of suffering, for all sentient beings. Only a great stupa can safeguard and amplify and magnify the positive effects of these holy objects for the benefit of all. |
Sa Ter (Earth Treasures)
Over the course of the past several decades, Lama Rangbar has had the good fortune to be the recipient of several important lineage treasures. These mostly include terma vajras and phurbas. Several of these will be offered to the Bodhivastu Phuntsok Chörten to increase its spiritual power and assure direct connection with past activities of all the Buddhas.
Medicines, Herbs and Blessing Substances

As a symbolic addition, substances that we consider precious, such as various herbs, medicines, healing stones, and consecrated blessing substances, will be included as offerings within the Bodhivastu Phuntsok Chörten. |
Rolled Mantras and Sacred Texts
Traditionally, sacred texts and mantras are included in great numbers in stupas. Texts of the recorded and translated speech of the Buddhas, along with mantras and formulas of all kinds, will be placed in Bodhivastu as a support for the representation of pure undefiled speech and energy.
Clay Images (Tsa tsas)
![]() |
A tsa tsa is a piece of clay with a sacred image impressed into it. In the future, we hope to make molds for making clay tsa-tsas available through our website, so that communities throughout the world can participate in their creation and thereby share in the merit of making the Stupa.
We seem to have little problem in collecting billions of dollars for purposes of greed and warfare. In undertaking the Bodhivastu project, our lofty goal is to amass one "doong" (one billion) tsa tsas from as many people as possible from all over the world who wish for peace. To counterbalance the billions of disharmonious thoughts, speeches, and actions leading to strife, war, poverty, and destruction of our natural environment, these tsa tsas, relics, coins, precious and semiprecious stones, and earth and water samples will represent billions of wishes for peace and prosperity for all beings. |
Precious Metals... gold, silver, copper, brass and iron, old jewelry

Metals such as these are considered precious by humans. They enable and represent a large portion of the wealth, creativity, and skill in our modern world. Greed for these same items has also caused commotion, war, and want. By offering these precious metals both inside and outside the stupa, the bonds between the "grasper" and what is being "grasped" can be loosened and thereby instead become a source of generation of ordinary and wisdom merit.
In particular, gold and copper are required for the spire, which represents the 13 levels of spiritual attainment. |

Old family jewelry can be offered to Bodhivastu and can be either melted down and used in the formation of the stupa elements or included as offerings within the base of the stupa. Such offerings made with pure and altruistic motivation can bring prosperity and wisdom to the offering benefactors or to deceased family members and loved ones. |
Soil, Stones, and Water from holy places from all over the world (collected by you)
|
When completed, the Bodhivastu Stupa will represent the collected efforts of hundreds of thousands of beings from many countries worldwide. As our interdependence has become increasingly obvious, we wish to assure the symbolic placement of soil, water, and coin samples from all over the world, with hopefully at least some from each country on Earth. This will have the added benefit of including the collective energy of the entire planet into Bodhivastu's blessing stream.
Then, in order to gather together the pure and holy qualities of nature and the flow of all-pervasive awakened mind, we seek one thousand and one soil and water samples from all sacred places imaginable (both those deemed famous and also those simply perceived to be holy) in order to praise and protect the enlightened and compassionate nature of our world environment, and to assure the stability of earth, metal, water, wood, and fire elements for generations to come. We have the goal to amass one million coins from all nations to be placed inside the stupa base as recognition of the unity and interdependence of our planet's wealth. |
Precious and Semiprecious Stones and Crystals, both complete in form or in fractured condition for powdering.

These ingredients are commonly used to enhance the radiant power and prosperity of Stupas. Complete precious and semiprecious stones will be used for the ornamentation of the central mandala structure, while fragments will be ground down into powder for use in the formation of images and blessing substance pills. |
Holy Representations and Tantric Implements

Buddhas and deity statues, bells, and vajras (scepters); activity representations such as phurbas, curved knives, and implements that destroy doubt and demonic energies; supports for prosperity such as vases and other precious containers, and many other objects will be placed in Bodhivastu. |
