H.H. Dudjom Sangye Pema Shepa Rinpoche
At the sincere request of the Bodhivastu Foundation, H.H. Dudjom Sangye Pema Shepa Rinpoche visited Bodhivastu’s Big Indian Meditation Retreat and Healing Sanctuary on July 8th, 2019.
This extraordinary visit represents a fulfillment of a long time cycle spanning two Dudjom incarnations. Decades ago, while Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche was overseeing a year long retreat at Orgyen Cho Dzong in NY, students of Rudi including the late John Mann visited to request a Sogshing—Spine of a Stupa, here in the shape of a Large Phurba—be blessed by his Holiness. This was for a Stupa dedicated to their teacher Rudi, yet designed to honor four teachers: Padmasambhava, Shakyamuni Buddha, Bhagawan Nityananda and Rudi himself. H.H. Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche happily agreed and blessed it. Now, some thirty years later and due to the miraculous blessings of His Holiness, this Ashram has also become a Dudjom Tersar meditation center where Vajrakilaya is practiced.
